Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 22, 2026
This Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy supplements our Privacy Policy and explains how Focused Space, Inc. (“Focused Space,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles “consumer health data” as defined by Washington’s My Health My Data Act, Nevada’s consumer health data law (SB 370), and Connecticut’s consumer health data protections. It applies to the Focused Space websites and applications (the “Services”) and to consumers those laws protect, including Washington, Nevada, and Connecticut residents. Where this policy and our Privacy Policy overlap, this policy governs consumer health data.
1. Why we publish this policy
Focused Space is a body-doubling and focus platform. Body doubling is a technique widely used in the ADHD community, and many of our members have ADHD — but many others don’t: remote workers, freelancers, students, and anyone who focuses better with company. We never ask for, and you are never required to provide, a diagnosis or any medical information to use Focused Space.
However, the laws above define “consumer health data” broadly: it includes information that identifies a consumer’s mental health status — or from which mental health status could be inferred. Because body doubling is closely associated with the ADHD community, someone could treat identifiable information about your use of Focused Space as a piece of evidence about your attention or mental health — even though using Focused Space, by itself, says nothing about any condition. Out of caution, we treat the categories below as consumer health data and give you the rights in this policy with respect to them.
2. What consumer health data we collect, and why
We collect the following categories of information that these laws may treat as consumer health data:
Use of the Services itself: the fact that you have a Focused Space account and your session attendance — identifiable use of a service associated with the ADHD community could be taken as a hint about attention or mental health, even though our members use Focused Space for many different reasons
Content you choose to create: goals, tasks, notes, brain-dump entries, and chat messages may — if you choose to write about it — reveal information about your health or well-being
Usage data: timestamps, screens and features used, and session activity associated with your account
We do not collect: medical diagnoses or records, biometric data, precise location (our apps request no location permissions; we derive only country/region from IP address), or recordings of co-working sessions (live audio/video is transmitted in real time via Amazon Chime and is never recorded, stored, or analyzed by us).
We collect and use these categories only to:
Provide and operate the Services — running live sessions, syncing your goals and content across devices, and matching you with co-working sessions
Respond to support requests and communicate with you about the Services
Understand usage and improve the Services (internal analytics)
Keep the Services secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our terms
Comply with legal obligations
We do not use consumer health data for advertising, and we do not sell it. We will not collect, use, or share consumer health data for purposes beyond those listed here without asking for your consent first.
3. Where this information comes from (sources)
Directly from you: account registration and the content you create in the app
Automatically: device, connection, and usage data generated when you use the Services; on our marketing websites, analytics cookies run only if you opt in through the cookie banner
Sign-in providers: if you register with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from that provider (account data — not health data itself)
We do not purchase consumer health data, and we do not receive it from data brokers or other third parties.
4. How we share consumer health data — and how we don’t
We do not sell consumer health data, and we never have. We will not sell it without the separate, signed authorization the law requires — and we have no plans to ask.
We do not share consumer health data with advertising platforms. Our websites and apps send no visitor or user data to any ad platform, regardless of your cookie-consent choice. (Historical note: between approximately 2023 and July 2026 our marketing websites used the Meta (Facebook) pixel, which shared visitor data — IP address, browsing activity on our sites, and Meta cookie identifiers — with Meta. This ended in July 2026, and no equivalent sharing occurs today.)
Service providers (processors): the providers listed in Section 5 of our Privacy Policy process data on our behalf, under contracts that restrict them to our instructions. The categories are: cloud hosting and infrastructure (Amazon Web Services, including authentication and live video), app and website analytics (Google — Firebase Analytics; Google Analytics 4 only after cookie opt-in), sign-in and app-store billing platforms (Apple, Google), payment processing (Stripe), subscription management (RevenueCat), email delivery (Mailchimp), product analytics (Mixpanel), and internal operational alerts (Discord).
Affiliates: Focused Space, Inc. has no affiliated companies. We share consumer health data with no affiliates.
We may also disclose information where required to comply with law, legal process, or enforceable governmental requests, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Focused Space, our users, or others.
5. Your rights
You have the right to:
Know and access: confirm whether we collect, share, or sell consumer health data about you; access that data; and receive a list of the third parties with whom we have shared it
Withdraw consent: withdraw any consent you previously gave for collection or sharing of consumer health data
Delete: have your consumer health data deleted — including from archives and backups, and including instructing our service providers to delete it
Non-discrimination: exercise these rights without being discriminated against for doing so
6. How to exercise your rights, and how appeals work
To make a request: email support@focused.space from the email address on your account. For deletion, you can also act directly in the app: Profile → Account Settings → Data & Privacy → “Delete my account” (the same screen lets you export your goal data first). We will verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within 45 days (extendable once by a further 45 days where the law permits — we will tell you if we need it).
What deletion involves: account deletion removes your account data and the content you created (it may take up to 30 days to complete, and we send a confirmation email when it is done). We also instruct the service providers that process your data to delete it, and remove it from archives and backups within the additional period the law allows. Some records may be retained where legally required (for example, payment records under tax law) — see Section 7 of our Privacy Policy.
Appeals: if we decline all or part of a request, we will tell you why, and you may appeal by replying to our response or emailing support@focused.space with “Appeal” in the subject line. We will respond to appeals within the timeframe the law requires. If your appeal is denied, you may contact your state’s Attorney General: Washington, Nevada, or Connecticut.
7. Changes to this policy
We update this policy as our practices or the law change. The revised version is effective when posted, with the “Last updated” date at the top. For material changes we will notify you prominently (for example, by notice on our website or by email).
