Summary of key points

  • What we collect: account details you give us (name, email, sign-in credentials), content you create in the app, purchase information, and technical/usage data collected automatically.

  • Sensitive information: we never ask for or require a medical diagnosis. Content you choose to write in the app may reveal information about your health or wellbeing; we treat it with heightened care.

  • We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third-party advertising platforms. Advertising pixels were removed from our websites in July 2026.

  • Video sessions are live-only. Audio and video in coworking sessions are transmitted in real time and are never recorded or stored by us.

  • Who helps us run the Services: a small set of service providers (hosting, payments, analytics, email), each listed by name in Section 5.

  • Where your data lives: the United States.

  • Your rights: access, correct, delete, and complain — mechanics for your region in Sections 10–11.

1. What information do we collect?

Information you provide to us

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you register, purchase a subscription, participate in sessions, or contact us:

  • Account information: name, email address, username, password or social sign-in credentials, profile details you choose to add

  • Billing information: billing address and payment details. Payment card numbers are collected and processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe — we do not receive or store full card numbers

  • Content you create: goals, tasks, notes, journal or brain-dump entries, chat messages in sessions, and similar content

  • Communications: messages you send us for support or feedback

Sensitive information

We do not ask for, and you are not required to provide, any medical or health information — including any diagnosis — to use Focused Space. However, content you choose to create (for example goals or notes) may reveal information about your health, wellbeing, or personal circumstances. We process such content only to provide the Services to you, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell it or share it with advertising platforms.

Information from third parties

We receive limited personal information from third parties:

  • Social sign-in: if you register or log in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address (or Apple’s private relay address) from that provider

  • App stores and subscription management: if you subscribe through the Apple App Store or Google Play, we receive purchase and subscription-status information from the store via RevenueCat, our subscription-management provider

  • Payments: Stripe confirms payment outcomes to us for web purchases

Information collected automatically

When you use the Services we automatically collect:

  • Device and connection data: IP address, browser type and version, device model and operating system, app version, language preferences

  • Usage data: log data such as timestamps, pages or screens viewed, features used, and session activity

  • Approximate location: country/region derived from your IP address. We do not collect GPS or precise location, and our apps request no location permissions

  • Android advertising ID: on Android, Firebase Analytics collects the Google advertising ID (GAID) as part of standard app analytics. We do not use it for advertising

  • Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 6

Live video and audio

Focused Space coworking sessions include live video and audio. Streams are transmitted in real time between participants through Amazon Chime (an AWS service). We do not record, store, or analyze session audio or video.

2. How do we process your information?

We process your personal information to:

  • Create and manage your account, and authenticate you

  • Deliver the Services — including running live sessions, syncing your goals and content across devices, and matching you with coworking sessions

  • Process payments and manage subscriptions

  • Respond to support requests and communicate with you about the Services

  • Send marketing email (you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every message)

  • Understand usage and improve the Services (analytics)

  • Keep the Services secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our terms

  • Comply with legal obligations

3. What legal bases do we rely on?

If you are in Canada: we process your information with your express consent, or with implied consent where permitted by law. You may withdraw consent at any time (Section 10). In some exceptional cases we may process information without consent where the law allows (for example, investigations of legal violations, emergencies, or where required by law).

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom: we rely on the following GDPR/UK GDPR legal bases: performance of a contract (providing the Services you signed up for), consent (marketing email, non-essential cookies — withdrawable at any time), legitimate interests (securing and improving the Services, in ways that do not override your rights), and legal obligation.

4. When and with whom do we share your personal information?

We share personal information only with the service providers listed in Section 5, in business transfers, or where legally required. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information with third-party advertising platforms for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Historical note: between approximately 2023 and July 2026 our marketing websites used the Meta (Facebook) pixel, which shared visitor data (IP address, browsing activity on our sites, Meta cookie identifiers) with Meta. This ended in July 2026, and no equivalent sharing occurs today.

5. Who are our service providers?

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) — Cloud hosting for all backend systems; account authentication (Amazon Cognito); live video sessions (Amazon Chime); internal analytics pipeline. Data involved: All service data, processed in the United States.

  • Google — App analytics (Firebase Analytics), website analytics (Google Analytics 4 — only after cookie consent), Google Sign-In, Google Play billing. Data involved: Sign-in identity; device and usage data; Android advertising ID.

  • Apple — Sign in with Apple; App Store billing. Data involved: Sign-in identity; purchase data.

  • Stripe — Payment processing for web purchases. Data involved: Name, email, billing address, payment card (held by Stripe).

  • RevenueCat — Subscription management across web and app stores. Data involved: User ID, email, purchase and subscription status.

  • Mailchimp (Intuit) — Email delivery (transactional and marketing). Data involved: Name, email, subscription status.

  • Mixpanel — Product analytics (server-side). Data involved: User ID and usage events.

  • Rewardful — Affiliate/referral attribution on our marketing websites. Data involved: Referral cookie identifiers.

  • Discord — Internal operational alerts to our team. Data involved: Limited account identifiers in operational notifications.

We may also disclose personal information in connection with a merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition (with notice as required by law), and where required to comply with law, legal process, or enforceable governmental requests, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Focused Space, our users, or others.

6. Do we use cookies and other tracking technologies?

Yes, in a limited way:

  • Essential cookies keep you signed in and make the Services work. These are always active.

  • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4) run on our websites only if you opt in through the cookie banner. The banner defaults to “off” for all visitors, in every region, and you can change your choice at any time via the banner’s settings.

  • Referral cookies (Rewardful) are set on our marketing websites to credit affiliate referrals for purchases.

  • No advertising pixels. Our websites contain no Meta, Reddit, Pinterest, LinkedIn, or other ad-platform trackers, and send no visitor data to ad platforms regardless of your consent choice.

Because our websites do not track visitors for advertising by default, browser “Do Not Track” and Global Privacy Control signals do not change our default behavior — tracking is already off unless you opt in.

7. How long do we keep your information?

We keep personal information for as long as you have an account with us, and delete or anonymize it when no longer needed:

  • Account data and content you create: while your account exists; deleted following account deletion

  • Payment and transaction records: retained as required by tax and accounting law (typically 7 years)

  • Analytics data: subject to the analytics providers’ retention settings (Google Analytics 4: 14 months)

  • Support communications: up to 3 years after resolution

8. How do we keep your information safe?

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures: encryption in transit, access controls, and hosting on AWS infrastructure with industry-standard protections. No electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure — transmission of personal information is at your own risk.

9. Do we collect information from minors?

The Services are not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18. If we learn that a user is under 18, we will deactivate the account and delete the data promptly. If you become aware of any data we may have collected from someone under 18, contact us at support@focused.space.

10. What are your privacy rights?

Depending on your region, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy (portability), object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior processing).

To exercise any right: email support@focused.space, or use your in-app account settings to review and update account information or delete your account. We honor requests as required by applicable law and will respond within the legally required timeframe. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Region specifics:

  • Canada (PIPEDA / Quebec Law 25): you may withdraw consent and lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Quebec, the Commission d’accès à l’information.

  • Australia (Privacy Act 1988, APPs): you may request access and correction. Complaints: contact us first at support@focused.space; if unresolved, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC, oaic.gov.au).

  • New Zealand (Privacy Act 2020): access and correction rights; complaints to us, then the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).

  • Singapore (PDPA): access and correction rights; complaints to us, then the Personal Data Protection Commission (pdpc.gov.sg).

  • Japan (APPI): you may request disclosure, correction, cessation of use, and cessation of third-party provision of your retained personal data. Your data is handled in the United States — see Section 12.

  • EEA / United Kingdom: the GDPR/UK GDPR rights above, plus the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority or the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

11. Do United States residents have specific privacy rights?

Some US states (including California) give residents specific rights over personal information. We have collected the following categories of personal information (categories per the California Consumer Privacy Act):

  • A. Identifiers — YES. Name, email address, IP address, account ID.

  • B. Personal information (Cal. Customer Records) — YES. Name, contact information, payment information (card numbers held by Stripe).

  • C. Protected classification characteristics — NO. Age, race, health data. (we do not request or require these; see Section 1 “Sensitive information”)

  • D. Commercial information — YES. Purchase and subscription history.

  • E. Biometric information — NO. Fingerprints, voiceprints.

  • F. Internet or network activity — YES. Usage data, device and browsing information.

  • G. Geolocation data — YES. Approximate location derived from IP address (no GPS/precise location).

  • H. Audio, electronic, visual information — NO. Live session video/audio is transmitted in real time but never recorded or stored.

  • I. Professional or employment information — NO.

  • J. Education information — NO.

  • K. Inferences from the above — NO. We do not build advertising or behavioral profiles.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Before July 2026, our marketing websites used advertising pixels that shared visitor data with ad platforms, as described in Section 4; that sharing has ended.

We collect personal information from you directly, automatically from your use of the Services, and from the third-party sources listed in Section 1. We use and disclose it for the purposes in Section 2 and to the service providers in Section 5. Retention periods are in Section 7.

California residents may exercise the rights in Section 10 (access/know, delete, correct, non-discrimination) by emailing support@focused.space. You may designate an authorized agent; we will verify your identity before acting on requests.

Washington, Nevada, and Connecticut residents: our separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explains how we handle consumer health data under your states’ health-data laws and the rights they give you.

12. Is your information transferred internationally?

Focused Space is based in the United States, and your personal information is stored and processed on servers in the United States (our hosting provider is AWS). Our service providers listed in Section 5 also process data in the United States. If you use the Services from outside the US — including Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, the EEA, or the UK — your information will be transferred to, and processed in, the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those of your country. We protect it as described in this notice wherever it is processed.

13. Do we make updates to this notice?

Yes — we update this notice as our practices or the law change. The revised version is effective when posted, with the “Last updated” date at the top. For material changes we will notify you prominently (for example, by notice on our website or by email).
