okFINE Terms of Use

Effective date: September 11, 2026

These Terms of Use govern only the okFINE iPhone and iPad app, a product of Focused Space, Inc. They do not govern the Focused Space website, Focused Space membership, Focused Companion, or other Focused Space products and services.

Accepting these terms

By downloading, accessing, or using okFINE, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. The Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your App Store download. These terms do not limit rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

Who may use okFINE

okFINE is intended for adults age 18 and older. You may use it only if you can form a binding agreement, have authority to accept these terms, and will use the app lawfully.

What okFINE does

okFINE is a local-first commitment tool. You choose a task, schedule, verification rule, optional snooze terms, and app or website restrictions before activation. The app has no Focused Space account or backend; its working data normally stays on your device and in its Apple App Group.

okFINE is designed to add useful friction, not to certify that an activity happened or that a commitment was fulfilled in every real-world sense. Verification depends on the method you choose and on operating-system and provider signals that may be incomplete, delayed, or unavailable.

Your commitments and safety controls

Review each task carefully before activating it. You are responsible for the task, schedule, verification details, restrictions, safety exceptions, and any communication, location, workout, or telephone destination you choose. A snooze toll is an in-app commitment consequence, not a fee charged by Focused Space.

Emergency Exit is available independently of verification. It asks iOS to release the affected restrictions and records the affected occurrence as Broken unless an already-authoritative completion wins a concurrent completion-versus-exit race; it never turns an incomplete occurrence into Completed. If the app or operating system is unavailable, you may need to use device-level controls or seek appropriate assistance.

Do not use okFINE to block or delay access to emergency, medical, accessibility, transportation, financial, security, caregiving, or other essential tools where losing access could create harm. Never rely on okFINE for an emergency or safety-critical purpose.

Verification methods and limitations

Gmail Send uses send-only Gmail access to send the message you compose to the locked recipient. okFINE cannot read your inbox or Sent Mail. If a network result is ambiguous after the message may have reached Gmail, the task can remain Verification Pending. You are responsible for the recipient, content, attachments, and consequences of the message.

HealthKit Workout reads only the workout information needed for the rule from an accepted source. Permission choices, data-source behavior, delayed writes, and platform limits can prevent completion. Missing or rejected data is not proof that a workout did or did not occur.

Location Visit requires the Apple location permissions and accuracy described in the app. iOS background behavior, disabled services, imprecise signals, or missed observations can prevent completion. okFINE does not create a continuous route history.

Telephone Call is available only on a supported physical iPhone. okFINE asks iOS to open the locked number, but the app observes only destination-blind system call state. It cannot verify that the observed call matched the locked number. Phone, your carrier, and the recipient control confirmation, routing, service, availability, and any charges.

Third-party services and permissions

okFINE relies on Apple technologies including Screen Time and Family Controls, Managed Settings, HealthKit, Maps and Location Services, notifications, Phone, App Groups, and Keychain, and may connect directly to the Gmail API when you choose Gmail verification. Apple, Google, carriers, recipients, and other providers operate under their own terms and policies. Their availability and behavior can change, and you are responsible for your accounts, device settings, permissions, connectivity, and provider charges.

Acceptable use

You may not use okFINE unlawfully; send harmful, deceptive, abusive, or unauthorized communications; attempt unauthorized access; interfere with the app or related services; bypass technical safeguards; or reverse engineer or redistribute the app except where applicable law expressly permits it.

External beta software

An external beta or other prerelease version may be incomplete, contain defects, change without notice, stop working, or lose data. Use it only for evaluation and feedback. Do not rely on it for emergencies, safety-critical needs, medical decisions, employment or legal obligations, financial deadlines, or your only copy of important information. Keep appropriate backups and alternatives.

Privacy and data

The okFINE Privacy Notice explains how the app handles information and how to use its local deletion controls. Deleting the app or using Erase All Data cannot remove information already handled by Apple, Google, a carrier, a recipient, a backup, or a sharing service. Use the relevant provider controls for those copies.

License and ownership

Subject to these terms, Focused Space grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use okFINE on Apple devices you own or control as permitted by the App Store rules. okFINE, its design, software, and related intellectual property remain owned by Focused Space or its licensors.

Availability and disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, okFINE is provided as is and as available. Focused Space does not promise that restrictions, scheduling, notifications, provider connections, verification, recovery, or data will be uninterrupted, accurate, secure, or error-free. Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or remedies that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Focused Space and its officers, employees, contractors, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost opportunities, provider charges, or losses caused by reliance on restrictions or verification. Any limitation applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law and does not limit liability that cannot legally be limited.

Ending use

You may stop using okFINE at any time. When practical, use the in-app Erase All Data control before deleting the app if you want okFINE to clear its local records and release restrictions. Focused Space may change, suspend, or discontinue beta access or the app, subject to applicable law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination continue to apply.

Changes to okFINE or these terms

We may update okFINE or these terms as the product, provider requirements, or law changes. Updated terms will identify their effective date. Where applicable law requires additional notice or consent, we will provide it.
